Trips
The trips normally starts at Lauklines.
During the 3 hours trip we are fishing in Kattfjorden, a sheltered fjord close to Lauklines. In this area it’s possible to catch for example cod, coalfish, haddock, wolffish, tusk, dab and plaice. This is the perfect trip if you like to learn more about sea angling, but don’t want to go to the open sea.
During the 5 hours trip we will go further out, to the area were the fjords meets the open sea. Here it’s good possibilities to catch really big fish. It’s a good spot for halibut, but also for cod, coalfish, haddock, wolffish, tusk, dab, plaice and redfish.
If you really want to see what the area has to offer, you should go for the 10 hours trip. During these trips we normally go for halibut on the shallow sandy areas or for the big cod and coalfish around the reefs on the open sea. Other common species during these trips are haddock, wolffish, tusk, redfish, dab and plaice. We normally use 30-60 minutes to reach the best spots.
During February-April we go for the skrei (big spawning cod from Barents Sea). This time of the year you have the chance to catch the really big cod, 30kg+. The average size of the fish is around 10kg. The best trips 2010 resulted in over 200 cods over 10kg/trip and everyone one this trips caught cod over 20kg. As an extra bonus there are big possibilities to experience the northern lights this time of the year.
