Season summary
The season starts in February with the fishing for skrei (big spawning cod from Barents Sea). This time of the year you have the chance to catch the really big cod, 30kg+. The average size of the fish is around 10kg. The best trips 2010 resulted in over 200 cods over 10kg/trip and everyone one this trips caught cod over 20kg. The stationary coastal cod makes it possible to have good fishing for cod all year around. The fishing for halibut starts up in the end of April, and the best time is normally May-August, but it can be good the whole autumn. The best time for the wolffish is May-July. The big coalfish normally arrives in May. The autumn is the best time for mackerel, whiting, plaice and dab.
